| Just as continuing development programs offered by other medical professions in Hong Kong, the CPD Program offered by HKSA will include activities such as seminars for members to participate, and so to learn related advanced and new knowledge and skills. In turn, members will acquire points by participating in these activities. After successfully accumulating points required by CPD, members will obtain an Achievement Certificate which is a quotable accreditation. It is planned that eventually the CPD for Audiology will be a mandatory scheme for all HKSA members and a statutory registration requirement for all practicing audiologists in Hong Kong. At this early stage, participation of CPD is on a voluntary basis.
CPD Program takes three years as a cycle. Each cycle begins on April 1 of a given year and ends on March 31 three years later. Members will obtain a CPD Enrollment Certificate upon enrolling CPD Program. To obtain the CPD Achievement Certificate, however, members must accumulate at least 45 points within each cycle. The CPD Achievement Certificate will only valid through the end of the immediate next cycle. If members accumulate more than 45 points within a cycle, the excess points CANNOT be carried forward to the next cycle.
“CPD Achievement Certificate” can be used as a quotable qualification in title during validation period for HKSA members who successfully fulfilled CPD requirements. Only active enrollees of the CPD program are entitled to display their CPD certificates. |
